INGREDIENTS

Active ingredients are listed in alphabetical order.

Dryness is frequently linked to an impaired barrier function. Mineral oil has an immediate barrier-repairing effect in a skin that lacks essential lipids. Mineral Oil exerts an emollient effect by forming an occlusive oil film on the skin and prevents excessive evaporation of water from the skin surface which aids in the prevention of dryness.

Safflower oil is rich in Linoleic acid (between 70-80%), which is one of the essential structuring lipids within the skin, and is crucial for the formation of a healthy skin barrier. Essential fatty acid deficiency, particularly Linoleic acid, is associated with the onset of skin conditions such as acne and dermatitis.

Safflower oil is absorbed rapidly in the skin, where the nourishing benefits of polyunsaturated triglycerides can be utilized. Direct topical application of linoleic acids to the skin immediately has an emollient effect, restores barrier function, normalises TEWL (water loss), and reduces skin flaking and scaling.

Castor Oil is used as an emollient for inflammatory skin disorders and has been shown to have antimicrobial properties. The key active chemical constituents in castor oil are Ricinoleic acid, which possesses antioxidant activity. Research has shown RA to be an effective antiviral and antibacterial agent as well as preventing the growth of yeasts and moulds.

Olive oil is rich in oleic acid which is readily absorbed into the skin and can also act as a penetration enhance for other active ingredients. Olive oil is also high in antioxidant compounds and is a valuable anti-inflammatory, emollient and conditioner for the skin.

Sesame oil is extremely rich in phytosterols, mainly beta-sitosterol and is known to stimulate cellular regeneration. The compounds in sesame oil inhibit growth of abnormal cells as well as acting a potent antioxidants.

Triticum Vulgare (Wheat germ) oil is rich in tocopherols (Vitamin E) and essential fatty acids, thereby improving skin elasticity, and assisting in wound healing.

Topically emu oil has been shown to decrease inflammation within the skin, as well as promoting wound healing. Emu oil also acts a penetration enhancer for other active compounds to absorb deeper into the skin.

Lavender oil has been found to possess antibacterial and soothing properties and is also effective in reducing allergy related skin irritation. Lavender also possesses anti-fungal, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties, and is effective in providing relief for skin ailments, such as psoriasis and eczema.

Rosemary oil contains potent antioxidants known as flavonoids. The flavonoids caffeic and rosmarinic acid in Rosemary oil reduce inflammation and promote skin repair.

The fatty acid component contributes to barrier repair and protection from infection and inflammation. One of the main bioactive component of rosehip oil is all-trans-retinoic acid, a natural precursor of vitamin A that is known to be responsible for restoring and rebuilding tissue.

EPO is rich in essential fatty acids as well as antioxidant compounds and assists in barrier repair, and reducing water lost through skin surface. Maintaining barrier function is imperative to prevent foreign microbes and irritants penetrating the skin and triggering inflammation.

The therapeutic properties of citronella oil are antiseptic, bactericidal, insecticide, and anti-parasitic.

Clinical trial results demonstrated that citronella oil also has anti-nociceptive (reducing sensitivity to pain), anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.
