Psoriasis Cream That Works

Treating Psoriasis – Why skincare matters

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease which typically presents as thick, dry and scaly patches on the skin’s surface. As a chronic disease, psoriasis requires ongoing care and management and therefore an effective skin care routine is a must!

Topical Treatments for Psoriasis

Topical treatments are often the first line of therapy for psoriasis. They can help to provide relief from symptoms such as dryness and itch, whilst delivering therapeutic ingredients to the site of inflammation.

An important part of any psoriasis skin care routine, is a good skin care cream.

But what is the best psoriasis cream?

Whilst there is no one size fits all answer, there are some important aspects of a good psoriasis cream that are worth considering:

Firstly, psoriasis creams that work well will have the ability to keep the skin hydrated. A cream or emollient can do this by either increasing natural moisturising factors in the skin and/or having an occlusive action i.e. creating a water proof barrier on the skin. Look for ingredients such as plant and mineral oils which will assist with skin moisture and barrier function.

Secondly, they should also contain active ingredients. These are ingredients that may have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant or anti-itch properties and help to relieve the symptoms associated with psoriasis. In a natural psoriasis cream, this will often include herbal or nutritional ingredients such as zinc, lavender, rosemary and sandalwood.

Other aspects of a good psoriasis skin care routine include products which have a keratolytic action. Keratolytics such as fruit acids, help to break up dead skin cells, reducing the thickness and flakiness of the skin. Keratolytics can often be found in psoriasis shampoos or body washes and help to improve the absorption of all other topical treatments.

Soratinex – An effective skin care routine for psoriasis prone skin

The Soratinex topical Skin Care range is a regime which helps to address the needs of psoriasis prone skin in 3 simple steps:

Step 1 – Skin Care Gel: Contains natural exfoliating (keratolytic) properties which help to remove dead skin build up and reduce symptoms of flakiness. In addition to reduced flaking, keratolytic agents such as AHA’s help to break up thickened skin, which allows for better absorption of the Soratinex Emollient and Skin Care Oil, therefore improving skin healing outcomes.

Step 2 – Skin Care Emollient:  A psoriasis cream that works best on mild-moderate psoriasis prone skin. The high concentration of herbal and nutritional bioactives in the Soratinex Emollient possess anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial properties which have been shown to regulate skin cell renewal and skin barrier function.

Step 3 – Skin Care Oil: Rich in natural oils and herbal extracts with an occlusive and deeply hydrating action. Help to relieve dryness and flakiness of the scalp and body and has a “moisture locking” action when applied after the Skin Care Emollient

By making these 3 steps a part of your daily skin care routine, you can enjoy the benefits of smoother, more hydrated and healthier skin from as early as 7-10 days with significant results after 6-12 weeks.
